Redlemon was born from a simple yet powerful concept: the search for a red lemon, symbolizing the quest for the best product and service, often rare and difficult to find. This idea took shape in 2007 with the launch of RedlemonClassifieds, initially focused on helping users find rented cars, houses, and more in Navi Mumbai. The driving force behind this venture was the partnership of college buddies Pankaj and Nilutpol, whose shared vision propelled Redlemon forward in the early days of the internet when speeds were a modest 122kbps.
In 2011, Redlemon Communications expanded its horizons with the establishment of its Guwahati branch by Mr. Rakesh Doley and Mrs. Upola Gogoi Gohain. This new chapter aimed to provide website services to government colleges, develop ecommerce platforms, and undertake groundbreaking projects in GPS technology for state electricity boards. The office, located at the prestigious Software Technology Park of India in Panbazar, Guwahati, became a hub of innovation and technological advancement.
The year 2012 marked a milestone as Redlemon Communications introduced Eshopany, the first-of-its-kind ecommerce platform in East India. This venture connected customers across India and beyond with a diverse range of ethnic products from Northeast India, showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage to the world.
In December 2013, Redlemon’s spirit of innovation led to the creation of Cellfisher, an IVR-based product developed in collaboration with Vodafone. This revolutionary mobile service opened new avenues for communication and connectivity.
Continuing its journey of groundbreaking ventures, Redlemon launched Gelamaal.com in November 2016, pioneering the concept of online grocery shopping in Northeast India. However, despite its success, financial challenges led to the temporary suspension of this venture.
